Privacy Policy
SlipRing respects your privacy.
This policy explains how SlipRing, LLC handles information across its websites, products, and services, including CIMOS™ at app.cimos.health. CIMOS™ is an early demonstration of a rare-condition navigation tool, built to be explored with fictional or example information and designed to collect as little as possible.
1. Information this demo handles
The SlipRing corporate website provides information about our work and does not currently include public account registration or a contact form. CIMOS™ is intended to be used with fictional or example information. Please do not enter real personal or medical details. Depending on the features you use, SlipRing may handle the following through CIMOS™:
- Your sign-in email and access role are stored with your private CIMOS™ account. If you save an optional Account profile, CIMOS™ also stores the values you provide for first and last name, date of birth, sex assigned at birth and any self-description, race, ethnicity, and the country and postal code where you primarily receive care. These fields are visible only in your member Account by default and are not included in Provider Workspace views in this release. Service-provider and legal disclosures described in Section 5 still apply.
- Working diagnosis details, diagnostic types or a None yet choice, researcher names, Private Records, saved Questions and selected doctor labels, your recollections of answers, doctor invitation emails and relationship history, and their creation or update dates are stored with your private CIMOS™ account; optional AI uses are described in Section 2.
- Your private Data Log keeps concise dated summaries of supported information you save and member-visible results CIMOS™ saves. A correction adds a linked entry; deleting a Data Log entry hides that summary without deleting its underlying source record, and retains only content-free deletion evidence. A saved profile change is logged only as “User changed saved profile information,” without field names or values.
- A legacy condition that has not been reviewed and saved, and browser-only treatment progress, remain only in that browser.
- Text you type into the “Talk about my condition” or voice features. This is used only to generate a response.
- Limited product-usage signals about signed-in onboarding, question preparation, and research-check workflows, if you separately turn them on in Account. We may use our analytics service for those signals. They are designed as workflow markers and are not intended to include diagnosis text, question or answer content, research search text, emails, or raw account identifiers.
2. AI-generated content
You can save your recollection of an answer without AI. Optional answer summaries require separate consent to send that saved question and your recollection to OpenAI; accepting the Alerts terms does not enable this purpose. You review and may correct the draft before explicitly saving a confirmed summary to your private Data Log. This does not change a diagnosis, treatment or provider record. You can withdraw answer-summary consent in the answer dialog; withdrawal stops new drafts but does not delete answers already saved. Answer recollections, drafts and confirmed summaries are excluded from research AI, automatic question suggestions, Expert Review exports and assigned-provider views in this release.
If you start browser dictation, your browser may send audio to its speech service; CIMOS™ stores only the text you choose to save and does not retain the audio. Typing remains available without dictation.
To produce condition overviews, answer questions, and rank research updates, CIMOS™ sends information to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) which processes it to generate a response. For condition overviews and questions you enter directly, this is the condition name and the text you enter. For the earlier template-based question suggestions, your follow-up answers are not sent to the AI provider: CIMOS™ builds that draft from your answers, in your own words, on its own servers; drafts are held for about 30 minutes so you can review them, and only a question you choose to save is kept. For research checks, this also includes the profile you have saved in CIMOS™ — your condition’s name, variant, and status; your symptoms, diagnostics, and treatments; researchers you follow; your saved questions; your private record notes; your age; and recent Data Log summaries — used to rank results and explain why each may matter to you. If you choose to give feedback on a search, that text is sent only when you ask for a feedback-steered search. Research checks, provider question drafts, and question suggestions require acceptance of CIMOS™’ AI search terms on the Alerts page. Existing members must affirmatively accept the updated terms before full-context question suggestions send relevant saved details and clarification answers to OpenAI. Under those updated terms, question suggestions can also run automatically after you save or update information; research searches still run only when you start them; you can withdraw that acceptance at any time in Account, and CIMOS™ emails you one reminder when your next research check is available rather than searching for you. Please do not include real personal or medical information in anything you send to the AI features. Condition information is compiled by AI from medical sources and is for general information only — it is not medical advice and not a diagnosis.
3. Cookies and local storage
By using CIMOS™, signed in or not, you agree to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, including the essential browser storage CIMOS™ needs to work. CIMOS™ uses your browser’s local storage for that essential storage, including session-specific and legacy demo state such as an unsaved legacy condition and browser-only treatment progress. That essential storage remains in your browser. Clearing browser storage removes that browser state but does not delete information saved to your CIMOS™ account. The browser prompt saves a choice for optional browser analytics on that device: Accept all allows them, while Essential only keeps them off. Signed-in product analytics for onboarding, question preparation, and research-check workflows, when offered, is a separate choice in Account and is not changed by either browser button. Those events are designed as workflow markers and are not intended to include diagnosis text, question or answer content, research search text, emails, or raw account identifiers. You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, though some features may not work if you do.
4. How information is used
- To operate the demo and generate condition information and responses
- We may use limited product-usage signals to understand how the site is used and improve it
- To maintain security and prevent misuse
The optional first name supports the Home greeting. Your date of birth is used to derive your age, which personalizes research updates if you have turned them on. In this release, CIMOS™ stores and displays the remaining optional Account profile values but does not use them for AI generation or personalization.
We do not use information you submit for targeted advertising, and we do not sell personal or health-related information.
5. How information is shared
We may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including our hosting, database and authentication, and AI providers. We may disclose information if necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to appropriate protections.
6. SMS alerts
SMS alerts are not available during the MVP.
Any previously recorded mobile number and SMS consent remain protected: they are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes and are retained only as long as needed for legal, security, or operational requirements.
7. Data retention
CIMOS™ keeps your original answer recollection, any saved AI draft and confirmed summary until you use Delete answer or request deletion. Delete answer removes that text and its linked Data Log copies while retaining content-free history and usage evidence; deleting only the Data Log entry leaves the original answer available.
Information saved to your private CIMOS™ account remains until you delete an item where that control is available, clear optional Account profile values and save, or ask us to delete account information. You can clear any or all optional profile fields in Account. Clearing a profile value replaces it with no saved value; a content-free Data Log entry that profile information changed may remain, but it does not contain the cleared value. Deleting a Data Log display entry does not delete its source record; use that source record’s own deletion control when available. Browser-only information remains until you clear browser storage for this site; doing so does not delete account information. CIMOS™ does not currently offer self-service account deletion. If you contact us to request deletion of anything else we hold, we will make reasonable efforts to do so, subject to legal, security, and operational requirements.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent. You can correct or clear optional profile values in Account. To request access to or a copy or export of account information, or to request account deletion, contact privacy@slipring.ai. CIMOS™ does not currently offer self-service export or account deletion. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
9. Children’s privacy
SlipRing services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian consent. If you believe a child has provided information, contact privacy@slipring.ai.
10. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information, but no website or system is completely secure. Because this is a demonstration product, please do not submit information you are not comfortable sending online.
11. HIPAA and medical disclaimer
CIMOS™ is not a healthcare provider, health plan, or HIPAA-covered entity, and information submitted may not be protected by HIPAA. Using CIMOS™ does not create a physician-patient relationship and does not enroll you in any research or clinical trial. We still treat any health-related information as sensitive.
12. International visitors
SlipRing operates from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at https://app.cimos.health/privacy with a new effective date.
